Hello!
My name is Aaron Garza and I serve as senior pastor at Bethesda Church in Huron, South Dakota and am a PhD candidate in systematic theology and Reformation studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Since the Lord called me to ministry at the age of 16, he has taught me what it means to love Him heart and mind. This has led to a B.A. in Christian Ministry (Tabor College), and masters degrees at Southwestern Seminary (M.Div., Th.M). My passion is to be a pastor-theologian: a heart that both prizes the deep things of God in theology and desires to realize this within the local church.
Life only began to be an adventure once I met my soulmate Justine at our alma mater (Tabor College). Together, we have served the Lord in local churches in Fort Worth, TX, and Fresno, CA. Together, we have two exciting sons, August and Samuel, who are the greatest examples of God’s blessings in our lives.
My personal interests are all things having to do with the Protestant Reformation. I’m fully convinced that when contemporary Christians listen to the wise voices of courageous believers who have come before us, our walk with Christ is benefited. I just happen to think that many of those examples end with last names like Luther, Calvin, Hubmaier, Marpeck or Sattler (all reformers from the 16th century)! When my head is away from the books, I live and breath soccer by supporting Liverpool FC. I am also learning again to appreciate my family’s favorite football team: the Pittsburgh Steelers.
